DIVING IN

The Superficially Deep.

There has been a whole lot of processing going on recently. Processing the “new normal in these unprecedented times” (cue gag at yet another combination of those words). Processing more information than ever before with more unlocking of devices in lockdowns. Processing how, where and why one may fit into this mess of a world. The very words being read by you at this moment are being processed by your brain. And I, the author, am in the process of writing for my blog.

It’s pretty cliché — a recent graduate decides to start a blog for what they describe as their medium for self-discovery, self-improvement and self-indulgence. This sounds wonderful and well-intentioned enough… Until one sees through the façade of authentic authoring and swiftly scans the career/CV-enhancing stories of another Gen-Z battling “funemployment”.

So yup, that’s me: The Superficially Deep. I admit to insincerity. I admit to strategic story-telling. I admit to superficiality. I admit to contradiction. I admit to being deep too: superficially deep and deeply superficial. Andy Warhol is probably rolling in his grave. You get the point.

Either way, I’m diving in to all of the above. Processing the processing. Come join me?

Yours insincerely and not yours sincerely

The Superficially Deep.
